This Reason Of The Heart

Waiting is the hardest thing we will ever have to do 

Because time moves the same speed no matter how we feel about it 

7 years will be 7 years, 4 minutes is 4 minutes, 

God is gracious though, He allows us distraction yet no matter how we fill the space between now and what we are waiting for, we still have to sit quietly and allow time to tick by. 

Maybe the raw definition of patience is the yearning of love. 

Maybe the true explication of one emotion is only truly discovered under the chasm of love. 

How do you deal with waiting? Not having the choice of being patient but life requiring you to be patient - it’s an emotion we don’t have a lot of control over. Usually life lets you way in on how much of a feeling you deal with. It gives you options to cope and eventual closure when you need it, but waiting is different .

In waiting you don’t get a period 

Waiting is an eternal pause until time stalks towards you with it 

Waiting is a stark expectation of life and body stands before each one of us 

It is the furthest from merciful and the hardest to avoid 

We are told our own freedom and strengths from a young age but they always leave out the enslavement of waiting 

Perhaps its good that they don’t tell us this ugly truth when we are young - perhaps its best we discover this disappointment alone 

That’s the first flaw this world reveals to us

With childish wonder and demand, this exhausting and dark opposition is shocking 

Waiting seems to be a feeling your mind should be able to handle, it should be able to process and then move onto the next issue 

Yet its stubbornness seems to make it an issue of the heart 

Perhaps waiting is a unique thing because of this very reason
